It’s almost impossible to find the perfect recipe for buttercream icing. But the good news is that I found one that worked perfectly well for me. And what also makes it so important is that it’s a staple for cakes, cupcakes and many other baked goods. It’s so creamy, dreamy and easy! You might just want to eat it plain, on top of that you can add in any flavor you’d like too.

Is grainy, lumpy, stodgy buttercream getting you down? Do you long to be able to make yours creamy, whippy, light and extremely delicious every time? Well now you can attain your buttercreamy dreams with this wonderful buttercream recipe. Let’s get started! Wooop!!

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups confectioners’ sugar, sifted
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 3 drops food coloring

Directions :

  • Using a hand mixer or a wooden spoon, cream your butter until smooth and fluffy. beat in and beat in confectioners’ sugar until fully incorporated. Pour in vanilla extract and beat.
  • Add in milk and beat for an additional 4 to 5 minutes. Add your food coloring, if wanted, and beat for half a minute until smooth or until desired color is reached.

Tips and tricks:

Milk or cream you can use either one of them, just be sure to use the right amount.

Don’t add too much liquid to your buttercream, you don’t want it to be far too liquidy to come together nicely.
