Crispy Chilli Beef 😘😘 Wowww, such a great bank holiday Monday dinner even our little man demolished his plate, I separated some sauce for him without the chilli 🌶 Simple delicious recipe from @kitchensanctuary for 4 below:
350g thin cut sirloin steaks or stirfry beef
4 tbsp cornflour or xanthan gum
1 onion, sliced
1 red chilli, sliced
1 tsp ginger, minced
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tbsp rice vinegar
3 tbsp dark soy sauce
2 tbsp tomato puree
6 tbsp caster sugar
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
2 tbsp sweet chilli sauce
Mix the beef in a bowl with the egg,
add the cornflour, season and mix to coat.
Heat 3 tbsp of the oil in a large frying pan until very hot.
Add the beef a strip at a time – and spread it out. You may need to do this in batches.
Fry until dark brown and crispy about 5 or 6 minutes.
Using a slotted spoon, remove the beef from the pan and place in a bowl lined with kitchen.
Once you’ve removed all the beef from the pan, add the remaining ½ tbsp of oil to the pan and turn the heat down to medium.
Add in the sliced onion and cook for 2 mins until slightly softened.
Add in the chilli, ginger and garlic and cook whilst stirring for 30 seconds. Add the rice vinegar, soy sauce, tomato puree, sugar, tomato ketchup and sweet chilli sauce to the pan, let it bubble for a couple of minutes until the sauce starts to thicken. Add the beef back in, give it a stir and heat through for 1-2 mins.
Serve with rice or noodles. Enjoy!!
